‎إِنَّــا لِلَّــہ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْـــــــهِ رَاجِعــــــون‬

Message from Qari Muhammad Sauleh Peck on the passing of Molana Taha Karaan.

Words cannot begin to describe the sadness with which we express our condolences to the respected family of Molana Taha Karaan.

There is no need to highlight Molana’s rank among the great scholars of our lifetime because his legacy and students are living testimonies to what Allah had blessed him with.

For us in Johannesburg Molana was firstly a dear friend and most of all our foundation and reference point in many aspects of Deeni knowledge and particularly for masaail of the Shafi’i madhhab.

Molana Taha was also a pillar of support and with his dua and advice our  Sayyidah Fatimah Institute was established.

He honoured us with conducting the final lesson of Tafseer at our first graduation in November 2020 at the Houghton Masjid (West Street).

May Allah grant Molana Taha complete maghfirah and the highest stage in Jannah.

May Allah unite him with Rasoolullah ﷺ who’s Hadeeth he so diligently studied and taught.

May Allah unite him with the family and Sahabah of Rasoolullah ﷺ that he so firmly defended.

May Allah unite him with the galaxy of luminaries and scholars of Islam that he loved dearly, was so familiar with and so often referred to in his discourse.

On behalf of myself, my family, our Sayyidah Fatimah Institute and the people of our community in Houghton who have beautiful and fond memories of Molana, we say:

إنا لله و إنا إليه راجعون.. اعظم الله اجركم و غفر لمولانا طه و احسن عزاكم

May Allah grant Molana’s entire family, students and friends Sabr Jameel and strength during this difficult time.

Wassalamu alaykum

Qari Muhammad Sauleh Peck
